The Rotary Club of Palos Verdes Peninsula invites you to join us in honoring those that we look to in times of emergency and disaster: our First Responders.
Show up and show some love for those that we reach out to during emergencies and times of distress.
Your 2026 First Responders Honorees
Deputy Ramirez began his career with the Sheriff’s Department in 2019. He later made his way in 2022 to Lomita Station, successfully completing the training program, and worked as a patrol deputy. In 2025, he was appointed as a Field Training Officer, a role in which he has served for over a year, successfully mentoring and training multiple deputies. Deputy Ramirez’s proactive approach to policing, strong commitment to community engagement, and consistent professionalism make him an exceptional choice for this year’s Rotary Responder Roundup.
Firefighter Paramedic Ryan Fogg has nearly 30 years of dedicated public service centering on protecting lives, property, and the environment while responding to a wide range of emergencies, including medical incidents, structure fires, wildland fires, technical rescues, and disaster response. His fire service began with the U.S. Forest Service as a wildland firefighter while simultaneously serving as a Reserve Firefighter with the City of Santa Ana. He later joined the City of Vernon Fire Department before achieving his goal of becoming a firefighter paramedic with the LACoFD.
Sergeant Marino embodies the Rotary motto through his commitment to serving others, his leadership, and his willingness to place the needs of the department and community ahead of his own. He has stepped forward wherever he was needed serving voluntarily in numerous acting leadership roles, ensuring continuity of operations and providing guidance to fellow officers. Sergeant Marino has earned the trust of residents through his professionalism, compassion, and outstanding customer service. Whether addressing quality-of-life concerns or mediating conflicts between neighbors, he demonstrates patience, fairness, and empathy.

Since a chance meeting at the University of Denver, Andy Hill and his partner Renee Safier, have carved out a unique musical niche for themselves in the Los Angeles scene and beyond. Their performances – more than two-hundred a year – are as much social gathering as musical event. Part fan family reunion, part rock & roll tent revival, their incomparable live shows attract a large, enthusiastic, and fiercely loyal group of fans. Andy and Renee provide a much needed connection with live music to their audiences, whether in an intimate House Concert or at a large festival.
